Size and Location
"Hillcroft Farms" consists of 10,000 acres in the 18" rainfall zone, situated 165kms south east of Perth and 32 kilometres north west of Narrogin.
Owners
"Hillcroft Farms" has been owned and managed by Dawson and Greta Bradford since 1967, along with their son Dawson since 1992 and with his wife Lisa since 2001. It is a diversified and integrated business, which captures and makes the most of the natural resources available in the area.
Enterprises
- A cropping program consisting of 6,000 acres, to barley, wheat, oats, lupins and hay.
- A Self-replacing merino sheep flock, from which surplus ewes are used for crossing with Poll Dorset rams for prime lamb production.
- A 1800 ewe pure Poll Dorset flock for breeding terminal meat breeding sires.
- A 650 sow breeding to finishing piggery.
- A 1000 ewe wool shedding self replacing meat breed in advanced developmental stage.
Staff
Permanent staff of ten are employed along with casual seasonal staff to run the extensive operation, which focuses on the production of quality and safety in crop and animal production, whilst achieving high economic returns.
Quality Assurance & Flockcare
Both the pig and sheep enterprises are participants in Quality Assurance programmes.
Disease Status
The flock is accredited free of brucellosis (Accreditation No AC/OC/023) and is footrot free.
